WATCH: Budweiser Clydesdales do Harlem Shake with Alex
See the 2,000 pound horses this weekend
NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - Some unique four legged visitors are in Southwest Florida. They're not just any horses, they're the famous Budweiser Clydesdales.
For over 75 years, they've embodied the Budweiser brand heritage, serving faithfully as ambassadors of the King of Beers, and icons of American industry. To qualify for a hitch, a Clydesdale must be a gelding at least four years of age, stand 72 inches at the shoulder when fully mature, weigh between 1,800 and 2,300 pounds, have a bay coat, a blaze of white on the face, four white legs, and a black mane and tail.
There are six "hitches" or teams of horses, five that travel around the US and one that remains in their official home at the company headquarters at the Anheuser-Busch brewery complex in St. Louis. Missouri, where they are housed in a historic brick and stained-glass stable built in 1885.
