Credit card thief sought in Punta Gorda

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking the public to help identify a woman who used a stolen credit card in Punta Gorda to rack up charges within hours of the card being stolen.

The crime happened last July.  Punta Gorda police say the victim parked her Jeep in a lot at 615 Cross Street between 2 and 3 p.m. when someone entered her unlocked vehicle and removed a wallet containing several credit cards.

Within hours the card had been used at area businesses including the Circle K on Marylympia Way where she was caught on camera.  When the victim realized her wallet was stolen she immediately canceled all cards.
