Bicyclist killed in North Port
NORTH PORT, Fla. - A night time bike ride turned fatal for a 65-year-old North Port man.
The Florida Highway Patrol says Robert Huffman had on his helmet, was using a headlight and tail lights on his bike and was riding his bike west on U.S. 41 approaching De Leon Drive in the left lane.
The FHP 21-year-old Caitlyn Jo Tundo was driving her car came up behind Huffman too fast to stop. The car struck Huffman's bike sending it onto and over the car.
Charges in the crash are pending.
