Collier Co. School Board to consider policy changes
NAPLES, Fla.- Collier County School Board members are set to discuss an array of new and revised policies, including ones that would allow advertising on district property and transfer of sick leave between employees, during their meeting at 4 p.m. today.
This is the second time the board has gone over the 13 policies, which they also discussed during a workshop last month. Changes proposed under the new and revised policies include:
allowing advertising on district vehicles, the Education Channel, yearbooks and other district property as a new source of funding, allowing employees to transfer accrued sick leave days to employees who have exhausted all of their own sick leave time, requiring coaches to remove students suspected of having a head injury from games and practices until they receive written clearance from a licensed medical provider and lowering the maximum age for participation in the regular high school program from 21 to 19.
