Port Charlotte man arrested for illegal dumping
DEEP CREEK, Fla. - A Charlotte County environmental deputy arrested a Port Charlotte man for illegally dumping household debris on a vacant lot in Deep Creek.
The deputy found 198 cubic feet of trash near some power lines on the lot on February 4. The deputy found several letters addressed to 35-year-old Matthew John Wolfe of Port Charlotte.
The deputy tracked Wolfe down who said he cleaned out his garage and assumed the Charlotte County Dump would be closed so he took the debris and illegally disposed of it beside the FP&L power lines off Highlands Road.
Wolfe was arrested for illegal dumping and was freed from the Charlotte County Jail after posting a bond of $2,500.
