UPDATE: Suspect at center of Friday manhunt charged in Cape pizza robbery
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - The man at the heart of a massive manhunt on along I-75 in Lee County on Friday is now charged with the robbery of a Domino's Pizza in Cape Coral.
Nathan Tucker, 25, of Naples has been charged with the Domino's robbery.
Cape Coral Police officials say Tucker and another person robbed the store on Skyline Blvd. and held employees at knife point. They got away with cash.
Police say they had identified Tucker as a suspect when he was spotted by a Florida Highway Patrolman Friday afternoon, walking along I-75, south of Colonial.
A Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson says the trooper noticed Tucker drop a gun before running away. That started a massive manhunt and the lock down of a nearby elementary school.
Tucker was eventually captured after three hour search when troopers say he was trying to scale a wall into a gated community.
Cape Coral detectives say Tucker confessed to the robbery after he was in custody.
A Cape Coral police spokesperson says they know who the second suspect is but they do not have that person in custody, nor are they releasing the name.
