Fort Myers man hospitalized in motorcycle crash
SAN CARLOS PARK, Fla. - A motorcycle crash in San Carlos Park left a 62-year-old Fort Myers man in critical condition Wednesday.
Anthony Donaldson was driving his motorcycle north on U.S. 41 approaching the intersection of Babcock Drive/Harborage Drive.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol 48-year-old Silvia G. De Alcantara of Fort Myers was traveling east on Harborage and had stopped at the stop sign. But Alcantara failed to see Donaldson and pulled into his path as he attempted to cross both lanes of U.S. 41 to continue on across to Babcock Drive.
Donaldson's motorcycle hit the rear of Alcantara's Honda sending him onto the roadway.
Alcantara was cited for violation of the right of way and Donaldson was cited for not having proper head gear.
