NAPLES, Fla.- Please don't stop the music! That is the message a packed room in city hall sent to council members on Wednesday morning.

A Naples concert series is giving thousands something to do every weekend, but may be on borrowed time.

The concert series is typically held on Saturdays from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Bayfront Plaza, but worries over the proper permitting for the event, crowd control and loud music almost silenced the series in the past.

Back in January, council voted to let organizers continue for 5 more Saturdays and on Wednesday council once again decided its fate and they debated for hours.

Dozens pleaded with council to keep the music going and argued it is good for nearby businesses and brings new life to the Bayfront.

On the flip side, some argue it is too much to hold a concert every Saturday night and homeowners have a right to peace and quiet on their front yards on the weekends.

In a very close vote, council decided to allow the concert series to continue and gave organizers once again 5 more concert dates that run through March.

Council has limited the crowd to 1,500 people and it is up to organizers to figure out how they will control the crowd.

Next concerts are set for Feb. 9th and 16th.
