Strip search brings more charges against Punta Gorda woman

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - The arrest of a 28-year-old Punta Gorda woman on Monday led to a strip search on Tuesday after jailers released she had ingested Xanax while behind bars.
The strip search revealed that Casey Leigh Cranfield had put a small pill bottle into her vagina. The pill bottle held eight Xanax and two unidentifiable pills that were sent to FDLE for identification.
Cranfield had initially been arrested for violating her probation. Now she's charged with introduction of contraband into a detention facility, possession of Xanax without a prescription, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
