2 men shot in Fort Myers robbery attempt
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Fort Myers say two men tried to rob another shortly after 4 a.m. and both ended up in the hospital with gunshot wounds for their troubles.
A man living at the Reflections Apartments on Central Avenue stepped outside for a smoke when two men that he knew attacked him and pushed him back into his apartment.
A struggle followed and the resident grabbed his handgun and shot both attackers, who then fled the scene and went to the hospital.
Police identified the attackers as brothers, 26-year-old Ashanti Underwood and his 27-year-old brother Jamar were both treated for their non-life threatening wounds and arrested for burglary.
