Naples man hit on bicycle
NAPLES, Fla. - A crash involving a car and a bicyclist Saturday morning sent a 28-year-old Naples man to the hospital in serious condition.
The Florida Highway Patrol says Edgar Lopez was riding his bicycle on a sidewalk south on U.S. 41 when for some unknown reason he decision to cross the highway near 95th Avenue North.
The FHP says Jacqueline Lista tried to stop her car but the her car struck Lopez sending him up onto the hood of her car and into the windshield.
Lopez was airlifted to Lee Memorial Hospital. Lopez was found at fault for failing to cross the highway at a cross walk.
