Arrest made in Fort Myers child death
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Fort Myers police arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with Wednesday's death of a child at the Horizon Apartments.
Derrick Maurice Johnson is charged with aggravated child abuse and negligent homicide.
Police were called Wednesday morning to the apartment complex about an unresponsive 2-year-old child. When police arrived they found 25-year-old Shawna Hall performing chest compressions on a child on the living room floor.
The girl, Brianna Addison, was transported to HealthPark Medical Center where she died about an hour later.
