First rocket launch of 2013 for Cape Canaveral
CAPE CANAVERAL - NASA launches its first rocket of the year at its Cape Canaveral station Wednesday night.
The Atlas-V Rocket firing into space holds a new tracking and data relay satellite -- called the TDRSK.
The satellite will be used for NASA to communicate with astronauts in space and aboard the International Space Station.
It will take two weeks for the TDRSK to reach its intended 22,300 mile high orbit. NASA estimates the satellite costs between 350 and 400 million dollars.
