NAPLES, Fla.- The St. Matthew's House is hosting a cooking challenge!

Lisa Resch of Carolina Catering Company will spend Monday as a guest chef at the homeless shelter.

She is one of 8 local chefs that have accepted the challenge of cooking for up to 150 residents at the St. Matthew's House. She is only allowed to use the items in the pantry or the food donated to the shelter on Monday.

Six other chefs have already accepted the same challenge and prepared meals during the month of January. One more guest chef will cook on Tuesday at the shelter and then the winner will cook against the organization's Executive Chef, Eric Delano. Delano usually spends countless hours preparing meals at the shelter.

Preps for Monday's dinner started around noon and dinner will be served to residents at 5pm tonight.

The purpose of the cooking challenge is to show residents that the community cares and is interested in helping.
