FORT MYERS, Fla. - An early morning car crash killed a Fort Myers woman and sent a Fort Myers man to the hospital.
Fort Myers police responded to a crash on McGregor Boulevard near Olmeda Way at 3:03 a.m. 50-year-old Paul Pombier was driving north of McGregor when he lost control of his car and hit a palm tree.
The crash killed a passenger, 35-year-old TIffany Thomas. Pompier went to the hospital as a trauma alert.
Police say that speed and alcohol played a role in the crash.
The crash shutdown McGregor for more than three hours.
