PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - A two car crash on Kings Highway at the I-75 early this morning sent four people to the hospital, one in serious condition.

Firefighters had to tear one vehicle apart with the jaws of life to extract the victims inside.  That's where they found the most seriously injured man, 27-year-old Hector Negron of Arcadia.

The crash brought traffic to a halt at the height of the morning rush at the interchange.

The Florida Highway Patrol says 45-year-old Frank Palmero of Port Charlotte was traveling north on Kings Highway and made a left turn into the path of the car that Negron was driving.

Palmero was cited for failing to yield the right of way.  Look for more details on FOX 4 News at 6.
