Fort Myers woman arrested for beating daughter, age 2
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Fort Myers police arrested a 22-year-old woman after she admitted to beating her two-year-old daughter.
An anonymous tip to Fort Myers police about a mother beating a child and shouting profanities led officers to the Sabal Palm Apartments.
Officers found Brittany Day who told police that her baby wouldn't stop crying. Officers found the little girl sitting on a training potty shaking with fear. The child was bleeding from the lip and had small cuts in the forehead and bruising to the neck.
Day admitted to police that she had beaten her daughter but claimed that cut to the lip happened when the child climbed on a bed at a friend's home.
Day is charged with cruelty toward a child and aggravated child abuse.
