Lee County housing comeback continues

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Home prices moved higher in December 2012 in Lee County for the 23rd consecutive month.  The median home price climbed 14.6 percent last night and was 26.4 percent higher for the year.

The median price of a traditional home stood at $162,500 while the price on foreclosures and short sales stood at $102,000.  All three prices were gains from the previous quarter.

Members of the Florida Gulf Coast MLS sold 916 homes in December 2012 compared to 864 single family homes sold in December 2011.

Collier County home sale figures are due out tomorrow.
