Former band director appeals conviction
COLLIER COUNTY, Fla - A former Collier County school band director is appealing his conviction for having sex with a student.
55 year old Robert Hamberg is serving a 30 year prison sentence after he was found guilty in 2011 of having a sexual relationship with a 15 year old student.
Hamberg is a former band director at Gulf Coast High School.
His appeal hearing is being held in Tampa. There is no word on when a judge could decide if his case will be re-tried.
