Tyler Perry, Rev. Sharpton offer reward in 2 Collier Co. missing person cases

NAPLES, Fla.- A Hollywood Actor and Producer is offering $100,000 dollar reward and turning up the heat on 2 missing person cases in Collier County.
Tyler Perry and Rev. Al Sharpton held a press conference on Thursday in East Naples at the South Regional Library.
Nearly a decade later, Marcia Williams still holds out hope for answers. Saturday will mark the nine-year anniversary her son, Terrance Williams, disappeared.
"I have to have answers. I demand to have answers. Anyone out there who knows anything please don't be afraid to come forward," said Marcia Williams, mother of Terrance Williams.
Now Hollywood actor and producer Tyler Perry is hoping to throw attention on that case along with another missing person case in Collier. Perry learned about the disappearances of Terrance Williams and Felipe Santos after watching the case profiled on Investigation Discovery's "Disappeared" and CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360."
"I was outraged by the cases and as many of you get more information too you should be outraged too," said Perry.
Santos was reported missing in 2003 and about 3 months later Williams disappeared. Both men had separate encounters with a now fired Collier County sheriff's deputy Steve Calkins. Investigators questioned, but never arrested him. Calkins still remains a person of interest.
"You need evidence, need probable cause to arrest someone. We all have a feeling something is not right there, but that doesn't meet criteria in a criminal court room," said Detective Kevin O'Neill with the Collier County Sheriff's Office.
A young man interrupted the press conference. He was sobbing and claimed he was intimidated by Calkins.
Investigators are now looking into what he has to say. Perry and other influential leaders like Rev. Al Sharpton and the NAACP President, Ben Jealous, hope for new leads.
"No case should go cold because there's not enough warmth in the hearts of citizens around. This country needs to say we must resolve these cases," said Rev. Al Sharpton.
