North Fort Myers crash turns deadly
NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Florida Highway Patrol says a crash Thursday morning in North Fort Myers has turned deadly.
The accident happened around 11:30 a.m. at Pine Island Road and U.S. 41.
66-year-old Linda Toole of Cape Coral was driving a Toyota Prius north on U.S. 41 in the inside lane when she turned in front of a pickup truck driven by 21-year-old Jason Lee Walters of North Fort Myers.
The crash snarled traffic at the intersection for more than an hour and Toole was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
The FHP reports that Toole died Friday evening from her injuries.
The FHP is still investigating the crash.
