Port Charlotte couple faces more charges in thefts
PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Charlotte County detectives filed new charges against a couple accused of stealing items from the Tractor Supply Company and Dollar General Stores in Port Charlotte last month.
Detectives used surveillance videos to link 34-year-old Jeffrey Scott Sabatinelli and 31-year-old Christen Joy Dial, both of Port Charlotte, to the theft of an Acer tablet at a Best Buy.
The couple was first arrested on December 28 after a witness saw them steal items from Dollar General. They called CCSO and a deputy remembered a BOLO that matched the couples description from a previous theft at Tractor Supply in which an $830 plasma welder was stolen.
Detectives reviewed surveillance video from several past businesses thefts and matched Sabatinelli and Dial stealing a $350 tablet computer from a Best Buy in November.
Detectives searched all area pawn transactions made by Sabatinelli and Dial and found that Sabatinelli pawned the table at a Cape Coral pawn shop.
The two face grand theft charges and are both in the Charlotte County Jail.
