CAPE CORAL, Fla.---An outpouring of support for a homeless veteran just home from Afghanistan.

Steven Maczek and his dog are forced to sleep in a pop-up camper in a local campground, because the woman renting his house is way behind in rent and is refusing to move out.

After Steven's story ran, we heard from many of you on Facebook, over the phone and by email wanting to help the Army pilot in any way you could.

Bob from Cape Coral wanted to help so badly, he stopped by the station to offer his home to the veteran and his dog, saying he was 'really touched' by his story.

Mary Jane emailed us, also offering up her home and yard for Steven. She wrote that her home is full of love, with dogs, cats, even rabbits running around, so his dog wouldn't be a bother.

James also called in, also offering his home. He said his dad was in the service, and helping out a veteran was the right thing to do.

When we caught up with Steven Friday over the phone, he was so thankful to hear of all the offers of help. He says Lee Courts finalized the paperwork for the eviction of his squatter and he will hopefully be back in his home by Thursday of next week.
