Motorcycle crash seriously injures Fort Myers Beach man
SARASOTA CO., Fla. - A car hit a motorcyclist Christmas Day sending a Fort Myers Beach man to a Sarasota County hospital in serious condition.
The Florida Highway Patrol says 55-year-old David Hawk was driving his Harley Davidson motorcyle south on U.S. 41 just north of River Road when a car driven by 26-year-old Teodoro Guzman slammed into the back of the bike.
Hawk was taken to Blake Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Guzman was not hurt.
However, the FHP reports Guzman will be charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, no driver's license, careless driving and having an open container.
