Fatal crash in North Port
NORTH PORT, Fla. - A single car crash Sunday night in North Port claimed the life of a 25-year-old man.
North Port police say Emanuel Wright says driving his Honda Civic at a high rate of speed east on Parlay Lane.
Investigators say the car then went across Paradise Terrace and up a steep incline before slamming into a large rock before coming to rest on a vacant residential lot.
Wright was taken by helicopter to Blake Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Police say alcohol played a role in the crash.
