"It's very busy, very busy," one shopper said. "I never saw the Edison Mall like this before."
Throngs of last minute holiday shoppers packed the aisles of the mall Saturday.
"We have to get last minute stuff done," another shopper said.
Saturday is the second busiest shopping day of the year, after Black Friday.
The National Retail Federation expects a four-percent increase in sales over last year. The organization also reports at least half of people shopping have waited til the last minute to finish up their Christmas lists.
Mall officials say stores are luring in shoppers with deep discounts and promotions.
"Whether it's just a promotion, a gift with purchase, even a bounce-back offer for you to come back after the holidays to get those gifts that maybe you wanted and you didn't get," Edison Mall Director of Marketing Sarah Berthold said.
If you're still planning on going to the Edison Mall for some last minute shopping, it's open Saturday night until 11:00 p.m., Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and on Christmas Eve from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Macy's stores in the mall are open through the night Saturday into Sunday.
