Fort Myers woman accepts plea deal in death of her daughter
FORT MYERS, Fla. - A Fort Myers mother who was behind the wheel during a crash that killed her two-year-old daughter has agreed to a plea deal in the death.
Monique Daghra accept a plea to a lesser charge of aggravated neglect of a child on Thursday. She originally faced a charge of aggravated manslaughter of a child.
She was sentenced to ten years of probation and various drug and mental health screenings.
The case stems from a February 2012 rear-end crash that killed Daghra's two-year-old daughter Eva. The child was sitting in the front seat of the car unrestrained.
