Fort Myers Police investigating crash involving pedestrians
FORT MYERS, Fla.---The Fort Myers Police Department responded to a traffic crash involving two pedestrians. It happened Tuesday Night on Colonial Boulevard near the intersection of Six Mile Cypress Parkway in the eastbound lanes. Three juveniles were leaving a fast food parking lot attempting to cross Colonial Boulevard. The first three lanes of traffic stopped and allowed room for the children to cross the busy road. However, traffic was still moving in the far turn lane. Two of the three children ran into the path of a Toyota Matrix. The children ages 11 and 14 were transported to LeeMemorial Hospital trauma alert but are being treated for only minor injuries. Officers say the pedestrians should have used a crosswalk. No charges are being filed against the driver of the Toyota.
