More repairs at I-75 and Daniels tonight

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Work tonight will bring lane closures to southbound I-75 and eastbound Daniels Parkway between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Crews are in the process of making final repairs to the bridge which was damaged last month by a driver hauling a backhoe.The work on eastbound Daniels Parkway will involve repairs to lighting under the deck, replacing damaged guardrail and to remount an overhead sign.  The work will require closure of two eastbound lanes in Daniels.  One lane will always remain open to traffic

Work on southbound I-75 in the area of the bridge will involve crews placing rumble strips on the inside lane.

Damage to the bridge totaled approximately $750,000 and ICA which is responsible for maintenance of the interstate is seeking reimbursement for repairs.
