Meet JOE: A new bus service taking customers around Naples
NAPLES, Fla.- There's a new way to get around in downtown Naples. JOE is short for Jump on Express, a bus service taking people from downtown Naples to the Mercato just off of Vanderbilt Beach Road and U.S. 41 in Naples.
"Any bus transportation is good. I mean I don't drink, but maybe somebody drinks and wants to get to one side to the other," said Liz Rivera, visiting from New York.
"I think it's great for tourists down here to shuttle them back and forth," said Mike Amundson.
There are 2 buses running from Thursday through Saturday in season. Service goes from 6pm to 2am and here is the best part--it's free to everyone! Pets are invited too. It's paid for by businesses who flash their ads on the TVs inside the buses.
Businesses like Qi Cashmere which just opened over a week ago in the Mercato says she hopes this new ride inspires people to switch up their routine.
"it will bring us customers, brings us more traffic. The Mercato needs that," said Amina Holt, Store Manager.
So do you want to give JOE a try? You can meet the bus at various pickup locations including Fifth Avenue South and East Lake in downtown Naples.
