FT. MYERS, Fla. - Ft. Myers police search for a killer after a man is gunned down in an apartment complex Wednesday night .

Four In Your Corner's Colleen Hogan is talking to residents and learning, this isn't the first time this apartment complex has been part of a crime scene.

According to the Ft. Myers Police Department, officers responded to a call about 9:40 Wednesday night for shots fired at the apartment complex. When police arrived at the Palm Vista Apartments, they found a man dead from gunshots inside one of the apartments.
 
Police taped off the area and canvased the neighborhood.
 
We talked to a relative of the victim who didn't want to talk on camera for fear of retribution. That person told us the man was expecting his first child, a boy, in two months.
 
This isn't the first time the Palm Vista Apartments have been the backdrop for a crime scene; another man was gunned down in March and back in July, a man started a fire destroying one of the buildings.
 
We reached out to management of the Palm Vista Apartments for comment but they declined, saying the police were handling the matter.
