CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Fox 4 Rising's Alex Butler is cheering with the Cape Jr. Marlins and the Cape Jr. Dolphins because they both placed first at the Pop Warner National Championships last week. The girls competed among 76 different organizations from twenty three different states.

Each year, Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. hosts the Pop Warner Super Bowl and National Cheer and Dance Championships.  For the past eleven years, the event has taken place at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, FL during the first full week of December.

The Cheer & Dance Championships feature over 300 cheer and dance squads who compete at a five-day long event. Competitions take place at the HP Field House at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Cheer & Dance Squads compete in 4 different age ranges (Jr. Pee Wee, Pee Wee, Jr. Midget & Midget), as well as three squad sizes (Small, Medium & Large) and four competition categories (PW1, PW2, PW3 & PW4).
