2 arrested in theft of North Port baseball equipment

NORTH PORT, Fla. - North Port police arrested two teenagers in connection with the theft of more than $6,000 worth of baseball equipment from North Port High School.

Police arrested 19-year-old Joshua Douglas Luff and 18-year-old Edward Lee Brandon Hignutt, both of North Port.

Investigators say both admitted to the crime after questioning and will face charges of burglary and grand theft.

Surveillance cameras captured an image of the two teenagers walking through the ball field on November 14.

The thieves took bats, balls, a radar gun and baseball gloves.
