Lehigh Man arrested after grow house goes up in flames
LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.---A man was arrested after an early morning fire in Lehigh Acres.
At around six a.m. Tuesday the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received an information call about a house fire on 13th Street SW. The Lehigh Acres Fire Department had responded to the residence and found what was believed to be marijuana plants inside. Deputies were dispatched to the scene.
Detectives discovered 168 plants inside the residence with a street value estimated at $336.00.
50-year-old Richard Smegal Jr was arrested with charges of Cultivation of Marijuana, Felony Possession of Paraphernalia and Trafficking Marijuana. The investigation continues and additional charges are pending.
