Shots fired at Matlacha bait and tackle shop
MATLACHA, Fla. - Lee County deputies are investigating a shots fired incident at the D&D Bait and Tackle Shop on Matlacha.
According to witnesses two men waited into the shop around 10:30 this morning demanding money owed to them from one of the workers.
The father of that worker walked out and ordered the duo to leave. They initially refused saying they wanted either their money or fishing gear.
The two finally left and the father followed them out into the parking lot where he believed he saw one of the two pulling a weapon. The father pulled out his own handgun and fired two shots into the air.
