NAPLES, Fla.- The Collier County Sheriff's Office is remembering a friend tonight.

Sgt. Doug Dever, a supervisor for the East Naples District lost his wife to breast cancer recently.

On Saturday, friends of the family held The Dever Boys Poker Run. Friends and family met at the Harley Davidson in Naples.

"We just want to pour some love, support on the family and we're going to 5 different poker run stops and at the end come back and get a poker hand at the park and there's over $6,000 worth of prizes," said Lynn Deffet, lost best friend to breast cancer.

Sgt. Dever had been married to his wife, Tara, for close to 2 decades and remained by her side through her 3 year struggle with the cancer. The couple has 3 children.

"She battled breast cancer for 3 years. It wasn't suppose to be an aggressive form," said Sgt. Dever.

Saturday's fundraiser will help the family with medical boys. Bikers paid to ride and raffle tickets were sold.

"We're seeing an outpouring love from our community from family and friends and this is a physical example of how many lives she touched, how many people loved her and loved us," added Dever.

Friends have set up an account (ACCOUNT NO. 3651400123) at Wells Fargo to help the Dever Boys.
