FORT MYERS, Fla. - Work on the damaged Daniels Parkway overpass on I-75 will near completion this weekend with repaving work Sunday night.

Crews will resurface all three eastbound lanes on Daniels Parkway beginning at 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.  Crews will also do road work on the inside southbound shoulder of I-75 in the area of the overpass requiring closer of the inside lane.

Motorists should expect one lane to be closed at a time during resurfacing for the work on Daniels.  Two lanes will always be open.

Multiple beams supporting the overpass were damaged on November 6th when a truck hauling a backhoe hit the bottom of the bridge.  The driver was cited.  Damage to the overpass is estimated at $750,000.
