SOUTH PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - Charlotte County deputies arrested a man and a woman last night after responding to three disturbance calls involving the couple at the Trail Apartments.

25-year-old Kathyrn Nicole Brickley and her boyfriend 33-year-old Kevin Gerald Brennan both face charges of resisting an officer.  Brickley is also facing three counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.

The first call came just before midnight when two women got into a dispute, one being Brickley.  Deputies defused the spat but were called back after 12:30 a.m. this time when a fight broke out between a neighbor who initially called about the first fight.  This time Brennan got involved but the couple promised to quiet down after getting into an argument with deputies.

As deputies were about to drive away Brennan came out of the apartment waving his arms and yelling. Deputies informed other deputies to return to the scene. Brennan ran toward the patrol in an aggressive manner but was finally calmed down.

Another deputy ran to the apartment to see if anyone was hurt because he heard yelling from inside. Brickley and another woman inside said no one was hurt but Brickley broke a lamp, a window, and threw things around inside and they wanted him arrested. Deputies said since no one was injured this was a civil matter. Both women began yelling and cursing at all deputies on scene.

The incident escalated from there with Brennan arrested when he tried to re-enter the apartment and then Brickley broke a window with a 12 inch knife before threatening deputies with it.

Brickley remains in the Charlotte County Jail on no bond; Brennan remains in jail on $1,000 bond.
