Florida Community Bank robbed on Wednesday
NAPLES, Fla.- A bank is robbed in Golden Gate on Wednesday.
Scary moments for the employees inside the bank as 2 men, one armed with a handgun force their way into the Florida Community Bank.
"They were threatened. They did have a gun pointed at them," said Lt. John Morrisseau, Criminal Investigations Division with Collier County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say the robbers entered the bank just before 8am right as they were about to open for the day and pushed their way inside.
"Changed her and were able to push their way into the bank. She tried to close the door, but was unable to close the door," said Lt. Morrisseau.
The Sheriff's Office calls the timing of the robbery sort of unusual since they robbed right at opening.
"That's not common. It's happen before sure, but generally during bank hours most bank robberies occur."
The Sheriff's Office now releasing these surveillance pictures looking for 2 black males and hoping someone out there can identify them.
"They had bandanas covering their face and large dark glasses."
Deputies say the employees were forced to hand over money from the safe and drawers, but luckily no one was hurt.
"One of them had a fire arm and that's when they took them to the cash drawers and into the safe and had them put money in the bag."
