Police seek person of interest in Fort Myers murder case

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Fort Myers Police Department is asking the public for help in locating a person of interest in a murder case from earlier this year. Detectives would like to find and talk to 24-year old Jonathan Espinosa.

Espinosa last lived in the Pine Manor area in Lee County.

He is about 5’7” and weighs 145 pounds.

Investigators would like to speak to Espinosa about the murder of 28-year old Shirley Zerna of North Fort Myers. Zerna was found dead back on June 18th in an apartment on Red Cedar Drive.

The Medical Examiner’s office ruled her death a homicide. Anyone with information in reference to Espinosa’s whereabouts is asked to call FMPD at 321-7700, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
