Plea to holiday drivers: watch out for panthers in southwest Florida

NAPLES, Fla. - Two panther deaths in Collier County has the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) pleading with drivers to be more aware as they drive this holiday weekend.

So far there have been three panther deaths this month in Collier County this month and 23 panther deaths so far this year across the state of Florida. 

Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER) warned that the death rate threatens to eclipse the 2007 record for panther deaths of 25.
