NAPLES, Fla. - The Thanksgiving travel season kicks off on Wednesday and runs through Sunday, according to AAA which predicts more cars will be on the roads.

In its annual Thanksgiving travel forecast released Tuesday, AAA  predicts 43.6 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home over the holiday, up just 0.7 percent from last year.

In Florida 2 million people are expected to travel but road, up 0.5% from the same time last year.

AAA attributes the slight bump to lower gas prices and expensive airfares as a reason for the moderate incense in road travel.
