I-75 NB on ramp open at Daniels
SOUTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - A 10 day nightmare came to an end on Daniels Parkway for commuters blocked from taking I-75 northbound in South Fort Myers.
The on-ramp opened Sunday night following an accident on Wednesday November 7 involving a truck pulling a flatbed carrying a backhoe that clipped the bridge spanning Daniels Parkway. The backhoe tore off large chunks of concrete and damaged the steel beams.
The driver of the truck, 57-year-old Glendell Edison, of Lehigh Acres, was cited for the accident.
Two contractors have been working furiously since the accident to repair the bridge and to restore normal traffic flow on the bridge and on Daniels Parkway.
