Port Charlotte toddler dies after finding gun
PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - A 3-year-old boy died after he found a unsecured gun at a home and accidentally shot himself.
The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is investigating after getting the call early Sunday morning shortly before 4 a.m at 21302 Hubbard Avenue.
The child was taken to Peace River Regional Medical Center where we was pronounced dead.
The sheriff's office interviewed the boy's parents. No charges have been filed. The shooting is still under investigation.
