2nd suspect in Tara Sidarovich murder captured
HARDWICK, Vt. - Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Cameron announced this afternoon the arrest of a second suspect wanted in the 2001 murder of 19-year-old Tara Sidarovich.
43-year-old Phillip Gavin Barr was arrested in the Hardwick, Vermont after a tip was passed on to the U.S. Marshals.
This morning Barr was found in a Hardwick home where he was living with a woman. As U.S. Marshal’s approached the home, Barr ran out the back door where he was met by other U.S. Marshal’s; he surrendered without incident.
A search of his home located two rifles and he now faces possible Federal charges for being in possession of firearms by a convicted felon.
Barr was taken to an area correctional facility where he was booked on the Charlotte County warrant for first degree murder. It is not known at this time when Barr will be returned to Charlotte County. CCSO will provide a booking photo of Barr when it becomes available.
39-year-old David Ray McMannis was arrested in October and charged with Sidarovich's murder.
