Reward increased for arrest and conviction in Fort Myers murder case
FORT MYERS, Fla. - A Fort Myers business is offering an additional $5,000 in reward money in hopes of tracking down and convicting the person responsible for the murder of one of their employees, Domingo Gutierrez-Leon.
Last Friday night Gutierrez-Leon was gunned down in front of his home in the 500 block of Prospect Avenue in Fort Myers while talking on the phone with his wife in Guatemala.
The killer managed to make a quick escape before friends found the 49-year-old shot. He later died at Lee Memorial Hospital.
His long-time employer, Crowther Roofing and Sheet Metal of Florida added an extra $5,000 to the $1,000 reward offered by Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers to encourage someone to come forward with information.
Anyone with information on the murder of Domingo Gutierrez-Leon is asked to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800780-TIPS (8477).
