Lee County Commissioner Bigelow arrives for final commission meeting
FORT MYERS, Fla.- Tuesday marks Brian Bigelow's final moments as a Lee County Commissioner. Fox 4 caught up with him on his way to his final commission meeting. This is hist first appearance in the chambers since the controversy surrounding his personal life.
"No comment about going out this way?" Fox 4 asked. "Being in the headlines?" Fox 4 asked. "The distinction is personal vs. public and try best I can to keep it separate," said Bigelow.
Last week, Bigelow was linked to a teenager who was arrested for drugs. Bigelow was cited after a traffic stop for allegedly allowing the 18-year-old to drive his car.
"I have no regrets looking back and I'm talking about county government commissioner here," said Bigelow.
One of Bigelow's final moves as commissioner, he asked the board for the State Attorney General's opinion on the legality of former county manager, Karen Hawe's severance pay. It was an idea quickly show down during the meeting.
While some questioned if Bigelow would show up, Commissioner Ray Judah was the "no show." It was his last commission meeting after serving 24 years in Lee County.
Board members then applauding Judah's dedication and commitment to the community.
