Passengers at RSW still see flights cancelled
About 5 flights were cancelled at RSW on Thursday
FORT MYERS, Fla.- Southwest Florida International Airport is still seeing cancellations and flight delays because of Superstorm Sandy.
On Thursday, RSW saw 5 cancellations.
Marion Krohne and her husband have finally made it back to Southwest Florida. It is an arrival that is long overdue.
"I couldn't get a plane anywhere, anywhere," said Marion Krohne, Bonita Springs resident.
The couple has been stranded in the Northeast for days. Superstorm Sandy swept through states like New York and New Jersey and caused flooding and heartache.
"Places like New Jersey where my brother lives they aren't going to get electricity until Monday. There is one Burger King open."
Southwest Florida saw about 5 cancellations on Thursday and that is nothing compared to the 57 cancellations on Tuesday.
Harold Kulman and his wife,Judi, hope to get to New York's LaGuardia Airport and visit their grandkids in New York.
"I think we are very lucky. We were suppose to go yesterday from Sarasota and we couldn't get a seat," said Harold Kulman, a Sarasota resident.
LaGuardia resumed flights on Thursday, but with limited service. Some are just happy to get to Florida and get away from the nasty weather.
"Monday and Tuesday was really bad. We were lucky. We are close to Baltimore and DC and we didn't get the worst of the storm."
