Woman arrested, boyfriend sought in Charlotte County theft

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. - Charlotte County detectives arrested a 21-year-old woman for stealing jewelry from a Gardens of Gulf Cove home and are searching for her boyfriend in that crime.

The theft happened October 17th in the 6400 block of Facet Lane when the victim discovered several pieces of very unique gold jewelry missing.

The victim told deputies the only people allowed in her home recently where Dolores Irene Rose Nicoletti and her 24-year-old boyfriend Benjamin Paul Hochmuth.

Detectives checked area pawn and jewelry store records to see if the couple had pawned jewelry items. They discovered several transactions for both Nicoletti and Hochmuth from August to October.  A ring identified by the victim was pawned in August at Englewood Jewelers.  Detectives obtained the transaction form with a copy of Hochmuth’s driver’s license and thumb print. 

Two other transactions involving sale of three gold items were located at Brooks Jewelers, Englewood; they were sold by Nicoletti. Detectives obtained copies of the form with her photo ID and thumb print. CCSO Forensic Unit confirmed Nicoletti and Hochmuth’s thumb prints from previous arrests.

Detectives arrested Nicoletti Wednesday charging her with Grand Theft, Dealing in Stolen Property and False Verification of Ownership.  They planned to arrest Hochmuth this morning on the same charges when was supposed to show up for court to face a drug charge.  He was a no show.
