Fox 4 anchors get locked up for MDA
Patrick Nolan & Emily Dishnow visit fundraiser in Cape Coral
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Generous Southwest Floridians helped raise more than $50,000 for MDA at a Halloween-themed "Lock Up" in Cape Coral.
Fox anchors, Patrick Nolan and Emily Dishnow - who hosted the MDA telethon on Labor Day weekend - were among those who went behind bars for the good cause.
Participants were "locked up" and told to post bail so they could go free.
They spent the afternoon enjoying food and drink at Anthony's on the Boulevard as they made phone calls to friends, family and co-workers for bail money.
All that money goes to MDA.
Organizers say the top three bail raisers brought in more than $3200.
They were:
1. Sandy Rigney of Southern Premier Homes
2. Greg Baily of Gulfcoast Readers
3. Rhonda Moulder of Gulfcoast Readers.
Cape Coral mayor John Sullivan raised over $500.
Also helping out was Cape councilman Chris Chulakes-Leetz.
Cape Coral police escorted participants to the "jail" cell set up in Anthony's.
Elite Limousine also provided its services.
And the Tall Cedars helped out as well.
The total raised at the event and others throughout the year will be announced on the MDA "Show of Strength" hosted by Patrick and Emily next fall.
On the 10pm news, Patrick shared a picutre of him in a "gangam style" get-up to promote the Halloween themed event.
Emily refused to do the gangam dance with Patrick on air saying "One of us has to be the sane one."
"That's no fun," replied Patrick.
